Engineering teams at large companies use dozens of tools — cloud providers, DevOps platforms, security scanners, identity systems. They rarely talk to each other. The result is that nobody has a complete picture of what's running, what's connected to what, and where the risks are.
The Kaleidoscope platform represents the entire cloud environment as a graph. Amazon Neptune stores the relationships between assets. Go-based crawlers pull data from 20+ REST and GraphQL APIs and keep the graph current. A GraphQL API on AWS AppSync gives platform teams a single point of query.
Making that reliable was the harder problem. A credential validation framework across 23 crawlers cut failed runs by 30%. A LocalStack-based local environment brought integration test time down from 13 minutes to 2.
