Forge lets users pick a template and have a live website deployed in minutes — no developer required, no CMS to configure.
It's a full product build: template selection UI in React, a Node.js/Fastify backend handling deployment orchestration, PostgreSQL for user and site data, and automated pipelines to push live sites. The interesting engineering work was in making deployments fast and predictable regardless of what template a user selected, and keeping the operational surface small enough that it could run without constant maintenance.
Built end-to-end by one engineer — which is also a demonstration of what it means to own a product, not just build features in one.
